Franz Joseph Haydn and Claudio Monteverdi were legends in their own time and visionaries of music yet to be. Eric Whitacre and John Tavener are contemporary composers using new techniques to stretch the art of choral music with their visions and well on their way to becoming legends. The Pittsburgh Camerata, led by guest Music Director Larry Allen, will perform Haydn’s Missa Brevis Sancti Johannes de Deo, Monteverdi’s Beatis Vir, Whitachre’s Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine and Tavener’s The Village Wedding.
