Andrew Kohn

Andrew Kohn grew up in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Columbus, Ohio. He holds degrees in double bass from the University of Cincinnati, the University of Iowa, and Peabody Conservatory, where his studies with Eugene Levinson culminated in the only Artist Diploma Peabody has awarded a bassist. He also holds a Ph.D. in theory and composition from the University of Pittsburgh where he studied with Eric Moe and Pablo Ortiz.

Currently on the faculty at West Virginia University, he is also a member of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater and Opera Orchestras as well as a recitalist.

Most of Kohn's compositions are vocal, and include solo songs, song cycles, choral works and liturgical compositions.
